The property has uninterrupted panoramic views of the pyrenees. There are 18 rooms and 7 bedrooms sleeping up 16 including children. The property benefits from

Located on the border of the Aude and the Ariege, 7km from Fanjeaux and 16km from the historic and picturesque 13th century bastide town of Mirepoix. The property is on the doorstep of the Malpere and Limoux wine appellations and the La Cite Medievale, Carcassonne.The property has uninterrupted views of the Pyrenees. La Maison De Maitre, Las Capelas, is a perfect base for short (long weekends to 2 weeks) and long-stays (1-3 months). Within a 2 hour drive is the whole of the Med-Coast from Montpellier in the north to Collioure in the south. Depending on the time of year and weather you can even do day trips to Andorra. Toulouse, Albi, and Lourdes as well as smaller less well known but very picturesque towns and the vineyards of Lot & Tarn-Garronne are also within easy reach. For longer stays then long-weekend visits can be made to: Cadaques (2 3/4hrs), Barcelona (3 3/4hrs), Bordeaux (3 hrs), Lyon (4 3/4hrs), and Nice (5 hrs) by car. A perfect locations for exploring all of Southern, South-Western France, Andorra and Northern Catalonia.
There are a wide range of outdoor activities available in the surrounding area from skiing and snowboarding through hill-walking, kayaking and white water rafting, windsurfing and paragliding to riding and golf. There are various activity centres offering water sports and zip-lining and the Parc Australie, Bison Farm and Reptile park. Places of interest include the regional cities of Toulouse, Narbonne and Montpellier, the Space centre in Toulouse, Cathar castles, cathedrals, the Canal du Midi, prehistoric parks and caves, the underground river at Labouiche, vineyard tours, the the artists village of Carla-Bayle and many more. There are also a range of festivals across the region throughout most of the year.
